Up to 100 bodies a night are dumped on the streets of Baghdad. Deborah Davies and director Charlie Hawes travel to Baghdad to investigate the death squads responsible for sectarian killings Iraq and uncover their links to senior politicians and religious leaders in the new Iraqi government. This film, part of Channel 4’s Iraq: Legacy of Hate season, reveals how the police have been infiltrated by Shia militia groups. With the help of Iraqi journalists, the team gathered rare footage from the inside of secret Iraqi government prisons and eye-witness accounts of massacres carried out by police commandos.
