Hartley travels from Bangkok into the\countryside, where he speaks to the rural power base for the 'Red\Shirts' responsible for many of the attacks. They want to depose the\current political elite: until recently ordinary Thai people have been\unwilling (or afraid) to question their monarch. Now that he lies ill\in hospital, they are starting to speak out and take action.
