The horror of leprosy, a disease both treatable and preventable with modern medicine, is its stigma, which still alienates sufferers from their friends and family.
In this documentary, the first in a new series of Unreported World, \correspondent Seyi Rhodes and Producer Richard Cookson visit India to \investigate claims that while the government says it has eliminated the \disease, in some parts of the country cases are emerging at a worrying \rate. Campaigner Narsappa recalls his mother's reaction when he was \diagnosed as a child: "She started to act like I wasn't her son and \grieving as if I were dead.
