Black Mambas - Saving the Rhino

Channel 4: Unreported World

Poaching threatens the rhino with extinction. Evan Williams and director Laura Warner report from South Africa where,  on the edge of the Kruger National Park,  rhinos are protected by the Black Mambas, an all-female anti-poaching unit.

The animal's horn hs become one of the most valuable commodities in the world, worth as much as diamonds and gold, and the illicit trade for the Asian market has sky-rocketed. As more penniless men turn to poaching, the Mambas stay resolute. 'They underestimate us...these are women. They cannot do anything.'
