Siobhan Sinnerton

Siobhan Sinnerton is the Series Producer of Channel 4’s acclaimed foreign affairs strand ‘Unreported World’. Siobhan is an experienced current affairs and documentary producer with a track record in both the foreign and domestic fields.

Siobhan has been at Quicksilver since it began in 2006, and in that time has produced, directed, and shot some of the company’s hardest-hitting films, before taking over the Unreported World strand last year. Last year she spent 3 weeks undercover in Zimbabwe with reporter Evan Williams to produce ‘Mugabe’s Reign of Terror’ about conditions inside the country. She has also made films for Unreported World in Sri Lanka, India (“A tremendous piece of frontline journalism” – The Telegraph) and West Papua. Last year she also produced ‘Dispatches: When Did You Last Beat Your Wife?’, a hard-hitting look at the true horror of Domestic Violence.

Siobhan joined Quicksilver Media from ITV’s Tonight with Trevor McDonald show, where she produced primetime films on subjects ranging from Darfur to land contamination, Iraq to cancer care - as well as producing Tonight’s exclusive interview with President George Bush.

In 2006 her ITV documentary about a young woman’s struggle with hereditary breast cancer was widely praised (“.. a sensitively told story about a brave woman’….Evening Standard; ‘a life-affirming documentary’ - The Mirror; ‘You might expect a programme about cancer to be depressing, but this is terrifically uplifting’ - The Observer).

Before joining ‘Tonight’ Siobhan worked in the US as part of the Granada TV-New York Times joint venture, working with journalists and editors to produce films from the paper’s content. During this time she co-produced the Emmy-nominated ‘Anatomy of a Disaster’ about September 11th. Prior to that she worked for several years in the Documentaries department at Granada Tv in Manchester.

A Belfast native Siobhan began her career there where she worked on documentaries about race, religion, and inevitably ‘The Troubles’, before being chosen as Channel 4’s Hot Dox producer for Northern Ireland.
